Home Scents Ltd develops and produces efficient, eco-logical and sustainable products for Home and Family. We are a preferredsupplier to Green Tourism. We use natural ingredients from sustainable sources in ourmanufacturing process and we are efficient and environmentally responsible inour use of energy sources.   All ourproducts are ultra-concentrated to reduce production, packaging & storage. Wedo not use any petro-chemicals or synthetic chemicals which are harmful to theenvironment and people. We are committed to reuse, recycle and minimize waste,and we continually assess and review our environmental strategy. Staff areencouraged to maintain a high level of awareness of environmental issues. Thisincludes having a responsible attitude towards production, dispatch and officeand this has a beneficial   effect onworking conditions and taking an interest in the environment. We are based in aregion of Northumberland which is an area of strong commitment to theenvironment. We use bottles that are readily recyclable and include a messageto "recycle” to all our customers with each order and on our websites.

  Green Tourism

  We are a preferred supplier to GTBS.

The GTBS is the national sustainable tourismcertification scheme for the UK.Originally developed in partnership with Visit Scotland, it is now the onlycertification scheme validated by Visit Britain, through the InternationalCentre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT). "GTBS provides excellent value for moneyto a wide range of tourism firms with first class environmental advice andauditing.

 Products

  All products from Home Scents Ltd are eco friendly and donot use any hazardous or chemical ingredients. We supply Green hotels and selfcatering   with environmentally friendlycleaning, laundry and handwash products.   Vegan certification ensures no animal testing,no animal or GM ingredients and ethical   sourcing.

 Travel

  Company policy is to use the following wherever possibleand practicable, including for travel to and from normal places of work:

  ·          Public transport in preference to private cars and taxis

·          Trains in preference to air travel (where overall cost andtime taken is reasonable)

·          Video and telephone conferencing in preference totravelling to meetings (where practicable and effective)

  Energy

Green Energy Tariffs are used by Home Scents. Energyconsuming services at company premises, particularly for heating and cooling,are monitored and inefficient provision of such services is reported to the landlord.

 We controlled our manufacturing processes to   reduce energy and water consumption.

 Lights, printers, equipment and computers are turned offovernight and when not in use.    

 Emails and fax are used in preference to post.

 Recycling

  Paper, Plastic, Glass, Printer toners and other consumableproducts are recycled.

·          Home Scents Ltd protects security of information byshredding documents

·          Re-cycle and re-use boxes and packaging received fromsuppliers.

·          Use eco-friendly infill and bubble wrap.
